Padampur: Community policing was organized by the Jharbandh police to bridge the gap between the police and citizens, aiming to prevent crime before it occurs instead of responding to incidents after they happen. The community policing was organized in Tapar village under Amthi GP in Jharbandh Police station here on Monday. In this program, Bargarh SP Prahllad Sahai Meena, Padampur SDPO Amritpal Kour, Jharbandh IIC Kresensia Samaria, Amthi Sarpanch Lakhesingh Thapa,ASI SK Barik, ASI Samaru Nag, and Jharbandh police staff were present.
On Tuesday, Community Policing was conducted in Pujaripali, located in the Lakhmara Gram Panchayat, by the Jagdalpur Police within their jurisdiction. The program was attended by Padampur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Amritpal Kour, Reserve Inspector (RI) of Bargarh Santanu Kumar Pradhan, ward member Santosini Sahu, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Kailash Chandra Pradhan, ASI Debendra Kumura, and other police staff.
In both programs, there was significant public participation. To strengthen this engagement and minimize the gap between the police and the community, the police distributed various items such as blankets, sarees, t-shirts, footballs, volleyballs, cricket accessories, notebooks, compasses, flashlights, umbrellas, and water bottles, all of which are useful for the public.
People were actively participating in the community policing program. I am very happy today because, for the first time, I am close to the police, and I realized that they are also kind and humble, said one of the participants
